Biography:
Studied art foundation at Central St Martin's College of Art and Design, followed by a degree in Art and Psychology. Brigit uses acrylic gouache on canvas to create images of local scenes as well as seaside towns that are both representational and eye catching.
"It wasn't until 2000 that I decided to take up painting seriously and found a style and medium, which I enjoy and feel comfortable painting in."
"My paintings are greatly influenced by the work of artists such as the photographer Martin Parr and the painter Edward Hopper. Each of my paintings has a central focus to them, often a building. The paintings depict scenes that I see on my travels to work or whilst on holiday and contain elements that would normally be considered drab and uninteresting, but for me, when viewed on a brilliant sunny day are striking and uplifting".
